“800 Years Young” follows the origin and tasks of Dandy, a bard, who’s lived on earth for the last 800 years. Today is his birthday, wherein audiences are his birthday party attendees. To preserve his immortality he must complete 10 tasks in 45 minutes: serenading an audience member, beatboxing, and offering a Q&A are task examples in this historical fiction for all ages. Dandy’s mission is focused on taking part in society’s more difficult, critical conversations surrounding race, religion, war, politics, death, and the power of how shaping society happens in the moment, with our hearts and hands.
