One Night Stand Theater brings an evening of laughter, suspense, and heart to the stage with One Night Stand with Wayne Faust, a celebration of storytelling through staged readings of short plays and stories by acclaimed Colorado writer Wayne Faust. The performance takes place Sunday, June 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Vintage Theatre in Aurora.
“Every few years, we devote an evening to one of our favorite local writers,” says Jim O’Leary, Artistic Director of One Night Stand Theater. “Wayne has been with us from the beginning, sharing his compelling and comic short stories. This showcase features both new works and audience favorites—including two pieces he’s adapted into short plays.”
This special event includes staged readings of three pieces never before produced by One Night Stand Theater, along with two encores of beloved works:
• “Emil and the Aliens” — Truth is stranger than tabloid fiction in this quirky sci-fi tale.
• “On a Quiet Street Where Old Ghosts Meet” — A mother and son reunite in an extraordinary, otherworldly encounter.
• “Promised Land” — A man with a dangerous secret drives across a treacherous Nebraska landscape.
• “Nothing Lasts Forever” — An immortal man confronts the loneliness of endless life on the eve of a new millennium.
• “Sailing Away” — A father and son return home from a long and perilous ocean voyage.
Founded over 15 years ago, One Night Stand Theater is known for its one-night-only staged readings that explore a wide range of themes—everything from science fiction and old-time radio to mythology, love, travel, and the supernatural.
One Night Stand with Wayne Faust will be performed Sunday, June 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Vintage Theatre, 1468 Dayton Street, just south of Colfax Avenue in the Aurora Cultural Arts District. Tickets are $12.
