Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard Extension Project: Public Meeting – Opportunity for Public Comment

Thursday, March 3, 2016, 6 pm to 7 pm at the Central Park Recreation Center, Community Room, 9651 E. MLK Blvd.

The City and County of Denver is hosting a meeting for the purpose of requesting public comments on the project which consists of:

  • Extending MLK Blvd. as a four lane arterial street east 1.1 miles from Havana Street to Peoria Street.
  • Constructing detached multi-use paths on both sides of the roadway.
  • Installing landscaping in a raised median and between the roadway and multi-use paths.

The project is funded and start of construction is anticipated to begin late summer 2016. An Environmental Analysis (EA) prepared in 2011 is being updated.

A short presentation will be followed by a question and answer session. Post-meeting comments must be received on or before March 31 in order to become a part of the meeting record.     13 ft travel lane? Is the speed limit going to be 50mph? A lane that wide with that large a clear zone will definitely encourage high speeds.
