CPUN is the registered neighborhood organization for the Central Park community in Denver, CO. Central Park’s all-volunteer neighborhood organization has committees that include: education, transportation, sustainability, safety, outreach, and neighborhood watch. CPUN meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of most months at 6:30pm (Block Captain meeting) and 7:30pm (Board Meeting) at the Central Park Recreation Center, 9651 MLK Blvd. Email to confirm meeting times.

The  Foundation for Sustainable Urban Communities was founded in 1990 by beloved Denver oilman/philanthropist Sam Gary. (The original name, Stapleton Foundation, was dropped in 2018.) Its mission was to write the redevelopment plan for Stapleton, the city’s former airport which closed in 1995 to make way for Denver International Airport. At 4,700 acres, it is the largest infill development in the country. The current mission of the Foundation for Sustainable Urban Communities is to advocate, sustain and realize the principles of the Central Park Development Plan (the Green Book).

Central Park is a Regional Level recreation center located in the northeast area off of M.L.K. Jr Blvd and Central Park Blvd. This facility includes group fitness classes (view the center activity sheet above), weight an cardio equipment, a gymnasium, and 2 multi-purpose rooms. In addition, the indoor pool includes a lazy river, splash area, 25yd lap pool, slide and pool party room. Adult Water Walking is offered at this center. Central Park Recreation Center also offers Active Older Adult (AOA) classes along with a free membership for residents ages 60+ through the MY Denver Prime program.

Hiawatha Davis Jr. is a Local Level recreation center in the northeast area located off of MLK Jr. Blvd and Holly St. This facility features weight and cardio equipment, a gym, a game room, the only indoor running track in the Denver Rec Center system, and meeting rooms that are available to rent. The multi-purpose room includes white boards, a pull down screen, and access to the kitchen. Aqua Aerobics and Swim Lessons are offered at this center. Hiawatha Davis Recreation Center also offers a free meal program for youth, along with free membership for youth through the MY Denver Card program.

Martin Luther King Jr. is a Neighborhood Level recreation center located in the northeast area near Monaco St just south of I-70. This facility features weight and cardio equipment, a gym, a racquetball court, and two multi-purpose rooms with a projector, pull down screen, access to the kitchen, and tables and chairs. Members have access to the lap pool, therapy pool and dry sauna. Aqua Aerobics, Deep Water Aerobics, and Swim Lessons are offered at this center. Only warm water therapy pool in NE Denver.
