1) Voices Rock Begins New Season

Voices Rock, the East Denver community choir that welcomes singers of all abilities, will begin its fall season on September 19th. Anyone can register through its website at VoicesRockDenver.com. Three adult choirs and two youth choirs (grades 3-8) will meet once a week for 10 weeks, led by founder Jill Teas and choir director Caleb Collins. Performing a mix of rock, pop and country music, Voices Rock will hold its winter concert on December 11 at Central Presbyterian Church on Capitol Hill. During the pandemic, members chose that the organization keep rehearsing outdoors and now the choir is enjoying performing live concerts again. Since being founded in Park Hill in 2014, Voices Rock has performed at fundraisers, community events, Rockies games, Red Rocks, and the Stanley Marketplace.

2) Shops at Northfield—Nike Unite Store and P.F. Chang’s

The first Nike Unite location in Denver is moving into the Shops at Northfield. The “Unite” concept focuses on establishing connections with local communities by hiring people from the neighborhood and by partnering with local sports programs. The store will open in early November directly south of Zen Asian Sushi, and the massive facility will provide a full selection of products. In addition to shoes and apparel, Nike Unite will also sell accessory items that include backpacks, sunglasses, smart watches, exercise products, digital devices, and sports equipment.

The popular Chinese food chain P.F. Chang’s is opening two new sit-down restaurants in Denver, and one will be sharing a building with Nike Unite in the Shops at Northfield. An opening date has not been announced, but the interior construction for the P.F. Chang’s is underway and the restaurant will be located across from the Improv Comedy Club.

3) Price Development Apartments

The Dallas-based Price Development Group is constructing the residential property on the southeast corner of MLK and Central Park Blvd. The 288-unit apartment building will rise up to five stories on the north and west sides, but will only rise up to three stories on the south and east sides of the building that face other residences.

4) Credit Union of Colorado

New corporate headquarters for Credit Union of Colorado is currently under construction on the west side of 40th and Central Park Blvd.

This three-story building on the west side of 40th and Central Park Blvd will serve as the new corporate headquarters for the Credit Union of Colorado. The headquarters plans on opening its corporate office and full-service branch in 2023. The location by the light rail and Runway 35 project will be convenient for customers, and the large facility plans on supporting a growing workforce of approximately 500 employees.

In & Out Burger: Denver’s first In & Out Burger is landing on Runway 35 North. This burger joint was initially exclusive to California, but the popularity of the restaurants encouraged the franchise to expand throughout the country and into Colorado. As the only location in Denver, this In & Out Burger is expected to attract patrons from all over the city and to benefit other businesses in the area.

Raising Cane’s: The Rasing Cane’s fast-food chain is renowned for its chicken-finger dinners and is the farthest south in this row of restaurants.

SCL Health Medical Group: Located just west of Chili’s, SCL is bringing its family therapy, sports medicine, and primary care practice to Runway 35.

6) Runway 35 South Developments

Runway 35 South site plan.

QuikTrip: This 24-hour convenience store is the first retailer to open on Runway 35 South. Located on Central Park Blvd. and 40th Ave. NE, it serves NE residents and highway travelers looking to fill their tanks or buy some food. The QuikTrip has 20 pumps and a large staff for the steady flow of customers, and a broad selection of products for food, beverages, and supplies.

Expected Retailers: Whereas many restaurants on Runway North are near completion and ready for take-off, most retailers on the south site have not yet taxied onto the runway to begin construction. Development permits indicate that Wendy’s, Cracker Barrel, Superstar Car Wash, and a Fairfield Inn are planned for construction.

7) Community Open House and Dedication Ceremony at the Former Johnson and Wales Campus

On September 24 from 2-5pm, the Mosaic Community Campus in Park Hill will hold an open house and dedication ceremony featuring food trucks, music performed by Denver School of the Arts (DSA) students, and the unveiling of a new community-built sculpture that will be led by Platte Forum executive director Michael Gadlin. The campus was purchased by the Urban Land Conservancy, Denver Public Schools and Denver Housing Authority, and it will offer opportunities for education programs, affordable housing, economic development, and job training. For the past year, St Elizabeth’s school has been using the campus classrooms for its private K-8 institution, and the Kitchen Network has been using the state-of-the-art culinary building to work with hundreds of food organizations. DSA plans on nearly doubling its enrollments as it expands onto the campus, and Denver Housing Authority and Archway Communities will convert six existing dorms into affordable housing.

Just curious is there more detail on the EV charging requirements at runway 35 north? I can’t make out the table in the image. That would be a a great place for a supercharger.

For Runway 35 South, the QuikTrip facility on 40th and Central Park Blvd has an EV charging station that is open 24 hours. While it is not clear if Runway 35 N will also install its own EV charging area, currently the ChargePoint Charging Station is available just a couple blocks north of the Runway. ChargePoint is also open 24 hours, it’s located on the west side of 48th and Central Park, and the exact address is 9014 48th Ave, Denver, CO 80238.
