The 12-foot sculpture by Sean O’Meallie was installed in 2016 and had been showing its wear from being outside for more than eight years during rain, snow, and hail. Work was done to repair the pedestal and resurface the sculpture, which was put back in place in late March.

Another iconic Central Park sculpture was repaired in April. Art restorer Mathias Leppitsch sanded off rust, fixed some damage, and repainted portions of the steel structure The Eye and the Horizon (after Monet) that is located at E. 29th Ave. and Xenia St. He also removed trash and wasp nests that he found inside the metal pipes. The sculpture was installed in 2006 and has been repaired periodically since then.
