This October—Project Cure-Ebola
Montview is sponsoring one or more Disaster Relief Shipping Containers of emergency medical supplies to help treat Ebola. The containers will be sent through Project CURE. Make a financial or supply donation (duct tape, safety goggles, rubber or other impermeable gloves, hand held sprayers that are 1 liter or bigger). Oct. 11, 12—Palletfest
Join Colorado’s first Certifiably Green event including live music and art, upcycling fashion show, food and beer. Everything is built out of recycled shipping pallets. Sponsored by Mayor Michael Hancock. First Sculpture Park, and is totally FREE. The festival will feature live music and art, an upcycling fashion show, food and beer, and most importantly everything will be built out of recycled shipping pallets. Oct. 18-19—Free Fall Festival at City Floral
Celebrate fall with games and fun: pumpkins, scavenger hunt, make scarecrows, run through a straw maze and meet The Urban Farm’s barnyard animals from 11:00am – 2:00pm each day. Enter to win or be a judge in our Chili Cook Off. Also hosting a Paws adoption event. Wear Halloween costumes and take photos in the pumpkin patch. Oct. 18—Harvest at the Hangar Chili Cook-off & Pie Bake-off
Isabella Bird Community School and Stanley Marketplace are hosting the first Harvest at the Hangar from 4-8pm on Oct. 18. The event will include live music, adult beverages, a chili cook-off and pie bake-off, carved pumpkin contest, build-a-scarecrow, face painting and more.

On Oct. 18, the National Wildlife Refuge will host Refuge Day at the visitor center from 10am to 3pm. Oct. 26—Free Parenting Workshop Behavior & Discipline, Part I
Stapleton residents Dr. Alison Auster and Lauren Ross offer free workshops on parenting. The second workshop is 4-5pm on Oct. 26, in the Sam Gary Branch Library (2961 Roslyn) meeting room and will discuss behavior and discipline approaches in the early childhood years (babies, toddlers & preschoolers), as discussed in the following books: Love & Logic Magic for Early Childhood by Jim Fay, Playful Parenting by Lawrence Cohen, and1-2-3 Magic by Thomas Phelan. All parents are welcome. Participants are not required to read the books before attending any of the workshops. RSVP is not necessary.
