Re: “Effective Sex Ed Discusses Life Goals, Being a Good Partner”

December 1, 2015 / Letter to the Editor / 1 Comment

The November article, “Effective Sex Ed Discusses Life Goals, Being a Good Partner,” was simply a thinly veiled advertisement for Planned Parenthood, an organization that was sued just last year in our own city for failing to report the rape of a 13-year-old girl. It is terrifying to me as a parent that the Front Porch would advocate contact between Planned Parenthood and children in our schools. Planned Parenthood has been embroiled in controversy over the illegal sale of body parts, including our own local branch, over which a lawsuit has been filed in our state just last month. It should shock us all that our neighborhood newspaper is willing to endorse such a corrupt organization. We can do better for our children. Parents should be presented with resources above the quality of Planned Parenthood. Some resources such as the Best Friends Foundation, Worth the Wait (a Texas program) and Sex Can Wait (an Arkansas program) have generated positive results. Parents need to know that there are alternatives for talking to their children about sexual health in ways that are age-appropriate.

This comment puts you in a similar category as a religious zealot who lived in a shack prior to killing 3 innocent people at a non-profit organization that does much more than perform abortions. Continue watching fox news and looking to the sky for answers.
