I am proud to represent Colorado’s First Congressional District and serve as a national leader on the issues that matter to us all. I am leading a bipartisan effort to modernize our medical research system and bring cures to patients faster. The people of Denver are not being served well by Diana DeGette.  Folks are wildly unhappy with Congress.  Diana DeGette has been in Congress since the nineties.  She is part of the problem and not part of the solution. If elected, I promise two things.  First, I will work hard on your behalf.  It sounds so simple, yet we don’t currently have someone working hard for us.  Rep. Angela Williams is the current State Representative and Democratic Nominee for the Colorado General Assembly’s House District 7. She was first elected to the position in 2009. She serves as the Chair of the House Business, Labor, Economic and Workforce Development Committee, and as a member of the House State Military & Veterans Affairs Committee and the House Services Committee. Williams has committed her legislative agenda to supporting bills that help improve the lives of Colorado’s working families. She believes improving education leads to better opportunities. She sponsored the Colorado ASSET bill granting in-state tuition for undocumented high school students, and supported the 2014 Student Success Act. I am running for my fourth and final term as state representative of House District 8. I have been honored to represent the citizens of east-central Denver at the Capitol. I am the Majority Whip and am Chair of the Health Insurance and Environment Committee. I also chair the oversight committee for the Health Exchange and am a member of the Criminal and Juvenile Justice Commission. I am deeply involved in healthcare reform and criminal justice issues and will continue this legislative focus. I have sponsored bills to improve women’s access to health care, strengthen our laws against human trafficking and prescription drug overuse, and help those facing foreclosures. In the upcoming legislative session I will sponsor bills to increase preschool slots for children, reform the justice code to handle petty offenses by juveniles in a more efficient and appropriate manner, and address foreclosure issues. Born in Oklahoma City, OK in 1979, Mr. Washington moved to Denver in 2008 to study biology and earn his PhD in Microbiology at Metro State University. Jeffrey says, “I see the challenges our community faces and I truly believe that a free-market, capitalism system is the best economic practice for society,” adding, “it offers people of the inner city more freedom, choice and opportunity.” Mr. Washington’s passion for public service began while serving in the student government assembly at Metro State. Alec Garbini

Alec Garbini has lived in Park Hill and Stapleton for 37 years. He knows District B. He is running on a platform that has three focus points – the future of RTD, increasing ridership by keeping passengers safe and comfortable and the importance of getting the busses and the trains to work together to transport riders to employment centers such as downtown and the Anshutz Medical Campus. His professional background is in project management where he was engaged in planning new communities and constructing buildings within them. He understands how transportation impacts the way people live. And as former chair of the Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation he was an early supporter of FasTracks. Most importantly, he feels that taxpayers need to see the value of their investment in RTD. “The system needs to focus on the people who pay for it,” he states.
