Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra Big Band
in Concert with Veronica Swift
Drew Zaremba, Artistic Director
Saturday, July 18 at 7:30 p.m. / Arvada Center for Arts and Humanities

The Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra big band welcomes international recording artist Veronica Swift to the Arvada Center outdoor Amphitheatre. One of the most compelling voices in jazz today, Swift brings a dynamic style that moves across genres while staying rooted in tradition. This one-night-only performance takes place on Saturday, July 18, at 7:30 p.m. at the Arvada Center, 6901 Wadsworth Blvd, Arvada, CO 80003.  Tickets are $29 – $58 and available at www.coloradojazz.org or by calling the Arvada Center Box Office at 720-898-7200.

“We’re incredibly excited to present our first concert with Veronica Swift,” said CJRO Artistic Director Drew Zaremba. “She is not only an impeccable vocalist, but she also shares our commitment to exploring jazz alongside America’s rich musical heritage. We’re cooking up some special arrangements to premiere at this concert, and we can’t wait to see you there!”

Veronica Swift has established herself as one of her generation’s defining voices in jazz. As a child, she toured nationally with her parents—jazz musicians Hod O’Brien and Stephanie Nakasian—appearing at leading clubs and festivals including Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola, Jazz Standard (NYC), Jazz Showcase (Chicago), and the Telluride Jazz Festival. She recorded her first album at age nine and has since built a career spanning two decades.

Her credits include a second-place finish in the 2015 Thelonious Monk Jazz Competition, a twice-yearly residency at Birdland Jazz Club, touring with Chris Botti and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and recording with Jeff Goldblum. Her 2021 album This Bitter Earth earned a five-star review and the cover of DownBeat, and in 2024, she was named a Chevalier in France’s Order of Arts and Letters.

Her 2026 release Home explores themes of loss, identity, and belonging through a wide-ranging repertoire, offering a personal and expansive view of what “home” can mean.

The CJRO is one of the region’s premier jazz ensembles, featuring top-tier musicians dedicated to honoring and expanding the jazz tradition. Known for their innovative programming and electrifying performances, the CJRO continues to push boundaries while preserving the rich legacy of jazz. Read more at ColoradoJazz.org
